 Growing Oyster Mushrooms

Come join us as we learn about mushrooms, their uses, lifecycles and indoor and outdoor cultivation methods. Participants will create their own mushroom grow kit by pasteurizing straw and inoculating it with oyster mushroom spawn. These kits should produce mushrooms in a few weeks and then can be used to start an outdoor patch.      Investment of $50.     Limit of 8 participants.     Additional kits available for $20.

Mushroom Hunting 101, July & August Dates TBD

Come ready to learn, this is an information intensive day!   We’ll cover mushroom anatomy and identification techniques, habitats, plant and tree associations, collection ethics, and photographic documentation techniques.   You will learn poisonous, medicinal and some safe delicious edible mushrooms along the way.    Walk away from this workshop with a confidence and ability to identify numerous mushroom species in our glorious state.    Investment of $250 includes a copy of Mike’s favorite and recommended mushroom identification guide, tree identification resources, collection basket and tools, and a whole day afield stalking fungi and ending the day with a cooking demo with our finds.
